Giuliani Meets Christie, Perry

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who’s considering a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, has a busy day Wednesday. He’s slated to meet with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has promised he won’t run for president next year, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is considering a chase for the prize, news services report.

guiliani, perry, christieGiuliani and Christie have scheduled a lunch in New York City, The Hill reports. Christie told CNN Tuesday that he is "100 percent certain I'm not going to run."

And given Christie’s growing popularity nationwide, Republicans who are running for president seek his endorsement. But he’s not ready to give anyone the nod yet.

"A lot of those folks impress me personally,” he said after Monday’s debate. “But none of them have emerged in my mind yet as the best option. When one of them does, I'll say it publicly."

Meanwhile, Giuliani was scheduled to meet Perry Wednesday morning,  Politico reports. That get-together is part of a barnstorming trip to New York by the Texas governor. He already lunched with New York donors and other Republican heavyweights. And tonight he will speak at a Republican fundraising event in Manhattan.

Giuliani and Perry have been friends for years, with Perry strongly backing the former mayor in his 2008 presidential campaign.
