Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele
(pictured) loses more support by the day. Major GOP governors have gone on record saying he’s got to go,
Politico reports.

Should Steele be ousted? “Yes,” Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, outgoing chairman of the Republican Governors Association (RGA), tells the news service.
“To defeat an incumbent president, even one that’s got the political problems of this one, the RNC has to operate at absolutely maximum capacity,” says Barbour, a former RNC chairman himself.
“And this year they operated far, far, far below that in terms of fundraising, in terms of grassroots organization, and in terms of building strong, self-reliant state parties.”
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is pushing hard for the position to be filled by Nick Ayers, executive director of the RGA.
