Real estate mogul/reality TV star Donald Trump says he’s seriously considering running for president. So it’s no surprise that he spoke by phone with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus Thursday, as sources told Politico.

They said it was an introductory conversation, and it’s apparently the first time Priebus and Trump have spoken since The Donald began making noises about running for president in February.

The chat was brief, the sources indicated. But it included a mention of Trump’s recent strength in presidential polls.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey released Wednesday, showed Trump tied for second place with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee among Republican primary voters.

The two have 17 percent support, trailing Mitt Romney with 21 percent.
