House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to roil her own party. Roy Herron, a Democratic congressional candidate in Tennessee, says the national party yanked money from his campaign because he said that he wouldn’t support Pelosi’s re-election as speaker,
Politico reports.

Herron announced his opposition to Pelosi Monday, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said later that day that it would cease financial support for his candidacy.
"This morning, The Jackson Sun [a local paper] reported for the first time what I’ve repeatedly told citizens: I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi for House speaker," Herron said in a statement Tuesday. "If the DCCC pulling ads is the price of independence and following my conscience, so be it. That’s the kind of congressman I’ll be.”
Herron’s views on Pelosi may be irrelevant. He trails Republican Stephen Fincher in the polls.
