California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who is chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sees his main job as Darrell, Issa, obama, economyworking with the White House to buoy the shaking economy. And if that results in re-election for President Barack Obama, so be it, he says, according to The Hill.

Issa wants to cooperate with the Obama administration to boost employment. "I hope we can do that together," he says. "My goal is to strengthen the president."

As for Obama’s political fate, "If the president's going to win re-election, he's going to win because, together, we turned the economy in the right direction, American businesses invested, Americans went back to work and are feeling good in 2012," Issa says.

"I probably still won't vote for him, but I certainly wouldn't feel bad if Americans were working again, and he did get another four years."
