Former President Bill Clinton will pitch in on President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Obama campaign manager Jim Messina told reporters that Clinton “will be out there with us,”
Politico reported.
At a briefing with reporters, Messina said that he and strategist David Axelrod spent time with Clinton last month to discuss his role in the campaign.
“It was a great time to get his advice, and I think you’ll see the president out there with us next year,” Messina said, according to Politico.
Messina also laid out a variety of scenarios for Obama to capture the 270 electoral votes needed to win re-election that involve pushes in the West, South or Midwest.
“My job, and all of our jobs, is to have as many paths as we can,” Messina said according to Politico. “Democrats got, in the ’90s and early 2000s, involved in just fighting one path. And that was a mistake for the party, and a mistake for how you win elections.
