In damage control mode this week, presidential hopeful
Herman Cain explains that the packing-up of his Iowa campaign team is no “big deal,” announcing five new campaign staff members that will be based in the Hawkeye State, according to a
report by The Daily Caller.

Five staff members, detailed to both Iowa and New Hampshire, resigned from his campaign recently.
The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza noted, “You’re necessarily going to have early turnover,” adding, “This campaign’s momentum has not skipped a beat.”
An Iowa Republican insider told The Daily Caller the staff exodus raises questions about Cain’s reputation as an able businessman. “[It’s] problematic if he knew about problems with staff and didn’t do anything about it, or didn’t even know–both speak bad of his managerial skills,” said the source.
Meanwhile, the Cain camp has slated a grand opening of the Iowa headquarters July 11. Cain has visited Iowa 22 times and placed third, behind Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann, in a recent Des Moines Register poll of Iowa voters.
