Likely House Speaker John Boehner will deploy a vastly different leadership style than current speaker Nancy Pelosi. Power will be more decentralized, and he will place allies in key leadership positions, Politico reports
Boehner will support fellow Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan to head the Republican Study Committee, a sounding board for strong conservatives who are leery of Boehner’s moderate ways.
He also backs Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling for conference chairman, the fourth-ranking leadership position. House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, who has a more fragile relationship with Boehner, is slated to become majority leader.
Boehner’s low key style contrasts with the bullying and cajoling of former Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay and the self-aggrandizing style of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, according to Politico.
