Bill Clinton poked a little light-hearted fun at newly announced Republican presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry of Texas today, T
he New York Observer reported.
Speaking at a firefighter conference in New York City, the former president said the Texas governor is a “good-looking rascal” — even if he disagrees with his political leanings.
“I got tickled by watching Governor Perry announce for ... president. He’s a good-looking rascal,” Clinton said.
International Association of Fire Fighters members in the audience laughed at the remarks, as the former president continued his jabs at Perry, who announced his candidacy over the weekend:
“And he’s saying ‘Oh, I’m going to Washington to make sure that the federal government stays as far away from you as possible — while I ride on Air Force One and that Marine One helicopter and go to Camp David and travel around the world and have a good time.’ I mean, this is crazy," Clinton said.
