Poll: Obama Approval Rating Hits New Low of 39%

A new Gallup Poll released Thursday shows President Barack Obama's approval rating at a new low. Only 44.7 percent of Americans approve of the job the president is doing in office, according to the poll conducted Oct. 14-17, down more than two percentage points Barack, Obama, Gallup, Poll, Presidential, Approval, Ratingfrom the most recent quarter.

Only 39 percent of Americans now believe Obama deserves to be reelected, down from 48 percent earlier this year, while 54 percent said Obama does not deserve to be reelected.

The poll also shows the president’s popularity among American’s has also plummeted. For the first time, more Americans now view the president unfavorably than favorably, 50 percent to 47 percent, which is the lowest of his presidency.
