Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., isn’t taking any chances, despite her lead in polls over Democratic challenger Tarryl Clark. She raised more than $3.4 million in the third quarter, up more than 100 percent from the second quarter,
Politico reports.

Exact amounts won’t be available for a few days, but Bachmann spokesman Sergio Gor told Politico that the campaign added $1 million to its cash on hand in the quarter thanks to the 100,000-plus donations.
“We are proud to announce that we have doubled our political contributions from the last cycle,” he said. “We appreciate the vast support we have gotten and are not taking this race for granted.”
The latest SurveyUSA poll shows Bachmann ahead of Clark by 9 percentage points.
