Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is running strong in Iowa, statistically tying for first place in a recent Des Moines register poll. And now she has her advertising operation rolling.

The Minnesota congresswoman’s campaign released its first TV commercial today, set to run throughout the nation’s first primary/caucus state. The Minnesota congresswoman plays up her economic credentials in the 30-second spot titled “Waterloo.”

“As a descendant of generations of Iowans, I was born and raised in Waterloo,” she says in the commercial. “As a mom of five, a foster parent, a former tax lawyer and now a small business job creator, I know we can’t keep spending money that we don’t have.

"That’s why I fought against the wasteful bailout, against the stimulus. I will not vote to increase the debt ceiling,” says the founder and head of the House Tea Party Caucus.
