Conservative author Ann Coulter says former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin should run for an Arizona Senate seat rather than pursue the Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, Jon Kyl2012 Republican presidential nod.

“I think she is a great voice for conservatism – why bother running for president?” Coulter told Fox News' Sean Hannity, according to Mediaite.com.

Palin recently bought a house in the state, and, as Mediaite.com reports, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., is set to retire in 2012, which would free up a spot for her.

Coulter went on to dish about the other Republican presidential candidates. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, she said, will likely get the nomination, “and we’ll all pretend it won’t be Romney to make the race look interesting." Neither Newt Gingrich nor Rick Santorum has a chance, she said, and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is “okay,” but “he’s no Chris Christie.”

Coulter, upset that her favorite candidate, New Jersey Gov. Christie, is not running, said he “would definitely beat Obama,” but that she “will take any of them over John McCain.”

“When we’re talking about someone running for president, you need someone who is stellar and a cut above,” said Coulter.
