Kathleen Parker has decided to leave the “Parker Spitzer” prime-time program on CNN, according to the network, which announced today that it is retooling the show around remaining host Eliot Spitzer.

The new show, “In the Arena,” will use an ensemble format with several newsmakers, guests and contributors joining Spitzer at 8 p.m. weekdays, starting Monday, CNN Executive Vice President Ken Jautz said today.

Parker is leaving to focus on her writing, according to a statement from the Time Warner Inc.-owned network. The show gained viewers last month after Keith Olbermann left MSNBC, according to CNN. Her exit marks the latest shake-up in the 24-hour news channel’s prime-time lineup. Piers Morgan replaced long-time nightly talk-show host Larry King in January.

Time Warner gained 43 cents to $37.85 at 2:56 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The stock had gained 16 percent this year before today.
