Brooke Shields has decided to extend her role in Broadway’s “The Addams Family” through the end of the year, reports CBS News
Shields, who stars as Morticia Addams, originally planned to leave the cast on October 30, but says that she is having the “time of her life” playing Morticia and will stay on longer.

“I am having the time of my life playing Morticia with this wonderful company of actors. Morticia is such a delicious role and ‘The Addams Family’ is such a fantastic and iconic piece of entertainment that I just couldn’t resist the invitation to extend,” Shields told Playbill.

“We are thrilled Brooke has agreed to continue in ‘The Addams Family’ for two additional months,” lead producers Stuart Oken and Roy Furman said. “She is a wonderful Morticia and has proven to be a great boost for the show in all respects.”

Playbill reports that Sheild’s last day with the Broadway show will be December 31.

Brooke is no stranger to the Broadway stage, having previously played Ruth in ‘Wonderful Town,’ Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago,’ and Sally Bowles in ‘Cabaret.’
