Victoria Hearst, publishing heiress and founder of Praise Him Ministries is advocating restraints on explicit materials published in a Hearst magazine.
Her message is right on target: Don’t have sex until marriage. Waking up sexual desires too early leads to pain. Promoting sexual imaging and messaging to young girls and teenage women leads to excessive promiscuity.
Such is the warning being issued by the heir to the Hearst publishing empire. She and Nicole Weider, a former super fashion model, are spreading the warning to local, state, and federal lawmakers.
Hearst and Weider want to put Hearst Corporation’s sexually explicit Cosmopolitan magazine in a wrapper and ensure that it is sold only to those over the age of 18.
Victoria warns, “The magazine promotes a lifestyle that can be dangerous to women’s emotional and physical well being.”
She is correct; and since such messaging is not good for adult women, can you imagine how harmful it is for little girls and teenagers to find it eye level in the checkout lines at the grocery store where they shop with their parents?
As Hollie McKay writes in her article, “Pick up the latest issue, with teen idol and star of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” Lucy Hale on the cover, and you’ll see everything from “25 Sex Moves He Secretly Wishes You’d Try” to “The Naughty Orgasm Trick Couples Love.” An earlier edition, with Ashley Greene as cover girl, offered readers “52 Sex Tips” and information about what to do “when your vagina acts weird after sex.”
Sexual promiscuity has become the norm in today’s culture. With the massive dollars being spent by Planned Parenthood and like organizations and companies to spread the message that sex is a right of every man, woman, and child, trying to teach our children moral chastity seems next to impossible.
The “do it if feels good” mentality of our society that is reinforced hundreds of times a day, if not more, has warped the conscience of our youth, especially those that don’t have a strong father and mother at home teaching them God’s word.
Planned Parenthood does everything in its power to promote sex to children and teenagers as is evident by a report by American Life League. The organization’s disregard for the welfare of children is just another example that all they care about is the almighty dollar and repeat business at the expense of our children.
We need to pray for our children and our country. We need to listen to God’s word and turn back to him. Let’s pray for Victoria and Nicole, that thousands will join them in this effort to educate families regarding the harm done to our girls and women.
Let’s put Cosmo magazine in the bag on the shelves of America, out of reach of our most precious gems, our children.
