Occupiers Won’t Help Democrats At Ballot Box

While the Occupy Wall Street protests that started several weeks ago downtown in Zuccotti Park seem to be growing, so does the support for the movement from those in the Democratic Party.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has said, "God bless" to them. Vice President Biden has been sympathetic to the movement. And just this week, President Obama attempted to rationalize their anger by comparing these activists with the tea party. "I understand the frustrations being expressed in those protests," Obama said. "In some ways, they're not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the tea party. Both on the left and the right, I think people feel separated from their government. They feel that their institutions aren't looking out for them."

While both movements have yet to name a spokesman or official leader, the two have little in common, despite the left's attempt to make parallels.
