MEXICO CITY (AP) — In a video recorded last month, an activist killed in her home this week tells authorities in the northern Mexican state of Tamaulipas that she fears for her life.
The recording of the meeting between Miriam Rodriguez and state authorities in Ciudad Victoria circulated Friday on social media.
In it, Rodriguez says that two of those charged in her daughter's disappearance and murder were among prison escapees the previous month. She says one of them remained free and that the security provided to her was insufficient.
On Wednesday, gunmen shot her in her home in San Fernando on Mexico's Mother's Day.
Rodriguez had been one of the founders of a group of families searching for their loved ones. Her efforts led to the discovery of her daughter's remains.
