Brazil Police Search Home of Executive Who Turned Himself in

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazilian police are searching the homes of former and current executives of the world's largest meatpacker whose plea bargain testimony has implicated the president in corruption.

Former JBS chairman Joesley Batista turned himself in to police Sunday after an arrest warrant was issued following allegations that he withheld information when he signed his plea deal.

A public relations firm says police were executing search and seizure warrants at Batista's house and the houses of two other executives on Monday. Police say they are also searching the home of a former prosecutor accused of coaching the witnesses.

Testimony from the executives that JBS bribed scores of politicians underpinned an indictment of President Michel Temer. Temer denies wrongdoing, and Congress voted that he should not stand trial while in office.
