OSLO — Norway's government confirmed on Thursday that representatives from Colombia's government and the FARC guerrillas will hold a joint news conference in Oslo on Oct. 17 after beginning peace talks earlier in the same week.

"It has now been officially confirmed by the Government of Colombia and FARC-EP that the press conference in Oslo is scheduled for 17th October, 2012," the Norwegian government told Reuters in an email.
