Iran Seeks Economic Lifeline in Latin America

CARACAS - The Islamic Republic of Iran is in favor of expanding economic and industrial ties with Latin American countries and to pursue this goal it is offering technical and engineering services to that region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported from Caracas that an official of Iran’s Ministry of Industries and Mines, Afshin Roghani said that during President Ahmadinejad’s visit to that country three cooperation agreements will be signed for developing mines, building a cement factory and a power plant.

The deputy industry minister, , who is currently in Venezuela, added that an office for the National Iranian Oil Company, a clinic and a dairy factory will also be inaugurated during the trip.

He went on to say that other agreements will be signed in the agriculture, stock exchange, energy and culture sectors.
