A bear was shot dead in Japan on Friday, June 18, after it went on a rampage and broke into a Sapporo army base, injuring four people including a soldier.
Local media reports showed the brown bear running down the streets before clawing its way into the military barracks. Eyewitness
footage showed the bear prowling the grounds of a junior high school. Sapporo authorities later tweeted the bear had been killed, with local media reporting hunters had shot it. One soldier and three other people were hurt in the bear's rampage.
