The U.K. suffered another 917 deaths from the coronavirus virus, bringing the total death toll to almost 10,000.

The increase brings the total number of Britons to die from the disease to 9,875, the Health Ministry said Saturday.

The announcement came as Prime Minister Boris Johnson continues his recovery from Covid-19. Johnson is making "good progress" the government said in a statement Saturday. Johnson was released from intensive care Thursday evening and remains in a London hospital.
