Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on President Donald Trump's latest initiative to end the war in Gaza, said Thursday that there may be reason for optimism.

"I think there may be light at the end of the tunnel," Putin told the Valdai discussion club in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.
