LIMA, Peru (AP) — Former Peruvian First Lady Nadine Heredia will be able to leave the South American nation without requesting permission from a judge following a court decision to annul a previous order.

Three appellate court judges ruled Tuesday that Heredia did not violate any regulations when she traveled to Geneva in November to begin working for the U.N.'s food and agricultural agency.

In January 2016, a judge banned Heredia from leaving Peru while she was investigated for allegedly hiding undeclared campaign contributions. The order banned her from traveling for four months.

Former President Ollanta Humala's wife has been under investigation since 2015 for allegedly hiding large contributions from socialist Venezuela that funded her husband's 2006 and 2011 campaigns.

Heredia has repeatedly asserted her innocence in the case.
