RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazil's former president is turning himself in for arrest on corruption charges as part of a sprawling graft probe.
Ex-President Michel Temer was on his way to federal police in Sao Paulo on Thursday, a day after a judge ruled he should await trial in jail.
Col. Joao Baptista Lima Filho, Temer's close associate and a suspect in the case, has also been issued a warrant.
Temer, 78, was already arrested in March but freed on appeal five days later by a judge who argued he did not pose a risk to the ongoing investigation.
The Car Wash probe was launched in 2014 and has ensnared high ranking politicians and businessmen. Another former president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, is serving a sentence of eight years and 10 months.
