The Kremlin on Thursday called for countries in the region to show restraint when it came to Venezuela in order to avoid what it called unpredictable events and called rising tensions "potentially very dangerous."
The United States has in recent weeks been ramping up pressure on the government of Nicolas Maduro, which Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov referred to as an ally and partner of Russia.
