Republican presidential candidate Lindsey Graham said Wednesday that Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski's support of the Tehran nuclear deal represented "a very good day for the Iranian regime.
"The Iranians have now secured enough votes in the Senate to ensure they have a pathway to a bomb, the missile to deliver it, and the money to pay for it," the South Carolina senator said.
Mikulski on Wednesday became Democrat No. 34 to back the agreement, which could release as much as $150 billion to Iran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear arsenal.
Congress has until Sept. 17 to approve or reject the accord.
"The only reason the ayatollah and his henchmen aren't dancing in the streets of Tehran is they don't believe in dancing," Graham said.
