U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told China's commerce minister during their meeting on Thursday that protecting national security is not negotiable, according to the U.S. Commerce Department.
During the meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao in Woodside, California, Raimondo also said U.S. export controls are narrowly targeted and are not designed to contain China's economic growth, the department said in a statement on Friday.
