A group of German doctors has decided to "bare it all" to draw attention to their need for medical masks and other protective gear.

A website called "Blanke Bedenken," or German for "Naked Concerns," has drawn a great deal of attention around the world, with doctors of both sexes posing naked with their private parts covered with everything from medical equipment to toilet paper rolls.

The website states, "We are your GPs. To be able to treat you safely, we need protective gear. When we run out of the little we have, we look like this.

"We are all vulnerable. Medical practices need more support from politics," CNN reported.

One female medical worker posed with a sign which read, "I was trained to sew up wounds. Why am I now having to sew my own face mask?"

The website was formed after a French physician, Alain Colombie, a general practicioner in Pomérols, France, posed naked in his practice and referred to himself as "cannon fodder" in the war against COVID-19, NBC News reported millions of face masks and other protective gear, most of it Chinese, has been delivered.

Roland Stahl, spokesman for KBV, which represents 160,000 physicians in Germany, said, "The situation appears to be improving, but we continue to need equipment. It's not as bad as it was a few weeks ago."

Ruben Bernau, one of the physicians Blanke Bedenken, told Arztezeitung, a German doctors magazine, "The nudity is a symbol of how vulnerable we are without protection."
