COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Latest on a police operation in Denmark (all times local):

7:30 p.m.

Police in Denmark say they "have found a vehicle that we believe is the right one," but declined to say what the nationwide manhunt was about or whether anyone has been arrested.

Copenhagen police spokesman Joergen Bergen Skov says Friday that police were "looking for people involved in serious criminality," but declined to elaborate.

Bridges from Zealand, the island where Copenhagen sits, to the central island of Funen and to neighboring Sweden were closed down for about two hours, and ferry crossings to Germany and to Sweden were also halted. Shutting down these key crossings caused major traffic jams.

All bridges and ferry crossings were later reopened but heavily armed police officers were screening cars at bridges and ferries across the country.

A nationwide police manhunt has paralyzed Denmark after authorities briefly cut off the eastern island of Zealand, where the capital of Copenhagen sits, from the rest of the country as well as from Germany and Sweden.

A black Swedish-registered car with "possibly three people onboard" was being sought in connection with "serious criminality," the Copenhagen police said Friday.

Sweden's Aftonbladet paper, citing an unnamed police source, said the case was likely connected to a kidnapping.

The Copenhagen police later said all bridges and ferry crossings had been reopened but heavily armed police officers were screening cars at bridges and ferries across the country.
