LONDON (AP) — Rocker Ozzy Osbourne, whose hits include "Crazy Train," has had a slightly more sober tram named after him in his English hometown.

Osbourne attended a launch ceremony Thursday in Birmingham, central England, where he grew up and formed the heavy metal icon Black Sabbath.

Workers peered from office windows to glimpse the singer known as the Prince of Darkness, while fans chanted "Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! Oi Oi Oi!"

Osbourne said his journey from Birmingham to fame as a rocker and a reality-TV star had been "an incredible journey," but he'd never forgotten his Birmingham roots: "Once a Brummie, always a Brummie."

Osbourne, 67, was aboard the tram for its first journey to New Street station.

Osbourne and his wife Sharon recently revealed they have separated after 33 years of marriage.
