SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — One hunter has died and another has been wounded in Bosnia after they wandered into a mine field left over from Balkan nation's the 1992-95 war.

Authorities say it took a demining team more than five hours on Sunday to reach the man's body, which was deep in the mine field. The blast happened late Saturday near the eastern town of Vozuca.

Bosnia was heavily mined during the conflict between the country's Serbs, Muslims and Croats that followed the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. More than 100,000 people were killed in the war and millions were left homeless before a U.S.-brokered peace agreement was signed in 1995.

Years later, mines are still scattered throughout the country despite ongoing demining efforts. Hundreds of people have died in postwar mine blasts.
