President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Turkey is "closer than ever" to ridding the country of terrorism, expressing confidence that a parliamentary commission will take the right decisions for Turkey's security.

Earlier this year, the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group announced its disarmament and dissolution. In August, Turkey launched a parliament commission to oversee the process.
