The Chinese coronavirus pandemic has altered every aspect of our lives across the United States – work, leisure, and spiritual worship.

In recent weeks, the tenor has reached a fever pitch regarding the last category. Individual Americans find themselves wanting to celebrate holy days, only to be denounced by the lawless and godless left for violating orders from the state to remain indoors through an unprecedented nationwide quarantine.

When it comes to access to abortion, however, the very same voices on the left consistently decry any abridgment or halting of abortion providers as an attack on the Constitution.

"They jail pastors and close the doors of the church while the abortion industry remains open to spread the virus and put our lives at risk," Janet Porter, president of the conservative Christian ministry Faith2Action.

Porter was quick to highlight there has been widespread enforcement of what she calls "this deadly double standard" when it comes to goods, services, and activities that are allowed and illicit during the virus crisis.

In her words, "Abortion mills are not constitutionally protected like churches or gun stores. States have ordered both churches and gun stores closed, yet they keep the abortion mills open."

Porter cited the example of Texas, which actually tried to close its abortion mills, but finally allowed them to remain open.

"You have people are driving across state lines to get their babies killed, so either there is no pandemic or there is," she said.

Citing what she calls "the hypocrisy that has swept the nation in the wake of the pandemic," Porter said "it is a blatant violation of our First Amendment rights when you have abortion mills open in North Carolina, but they arrest the protesters outside of the abortion mills.”

She emphasized, "we want the president and the vice president to help shut down these abortion mills. They are lawless, and pastors and protesters are going to jail."

Infuriated at what she considers hypocrisy and a double standard, Porter wants to take action. She has launched Stopthespread.com, a website in which more than "30,000 medical professionals are saying that the abortion mills need to close, because they are medically negligent for staying open."

Right now, Porter argues, "it is selective ideological enforcement. They are throwing the Constitution through the shredder because there is a pandemic. Even the governors of Ohio, Iowa, and Oklahoma have ordered the mills close, and yet [abortion mills] remain open in defiance. Abortionists don't care about universal human rights for the unborn or for the rest of us."

The other aspect about which Porter is also gravely concerned is the use of fetal remains in an eventual COVID-19 vaccine.

"They are coming out and admitting that fetal remains are a part of making some vaccines," she told us. "Bill Gates, whose father was on the Board of Planned Parenthood, wants a mandated global vaccine. Why shouldn't we hold people who use dead babies accountable for violating religious liberty?"

Porter concedes, none of these crucial issues will be decided until the November election.

"We need to be vigilant that the election goes forward, and ensure that this is a fair election," she emphasized. "If there were ever an event that tests the strength of the nation and the states, it is the Chinese coronavirus. We have only one chance to get it right."
