Actress Yael Stone Not Able to Testify against Geoffrey Rush

SYDNEY (AP) — "Orange Is the New Black" actress Yael Stone has been disclosed as the potential witness that a Sydney judge refused to allow to testify against Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush in his recent defamation suit.

Media company Nine Entertainment on Friday successfully applied to an Australian Federal Court judge to lift an order banning publication of her name.

Rush won a defamation suit last month against a Sydney newspaper and journalist over reports in 2017 that accused him of inappropriate behavior toward actress Eryn Jean Norvill.

Publisher Nationwide News lost a bid last November to amend its defense based on evidence from Stone.

Stone told The New York Times in December that Rush engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior in 2010.

Rush denied the allegation.
