KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — A police spokesman says two U.S. missionaries and a Ugandan pastor have been killed in a motor accident outside the capital, Kampala.
Patrick Onyango, a spokesman for Kampala police, said Americans Ed Pohlreich and Scott Volz sustained serious injuries after the car in which they were traveling crashed into a ditch. He said the Ugandan preacher, Stephen Kaweesa, was also killed in the crash. The three men were rushed to a local clinic where they died on Monday.
Pohlreich and Volz were among the leaders of an evangelical group known as the World Outreach Ministry Foundation.
