BAMAKO, Mali (AP) — A witness says men drove by a police post near a bus station in Mali's capital and opened fire, injuring two police officers.
Amadou Coulibaly said Thursday that the turbaned men were in a 4x4 and on a motorcycle and they were using automatic weapons in the drive-by shooting late Wednesday.
It is unclear who was responsible for the attack.
Islamic extremists took over Mali's north in 2012. A French-led offensive ousted them from the northern cities in early 2013, but attacks continue.
Mali's jihadi groups have been stepping up attacks, including on a hotel in central Mali on Friday that killed nine.
