BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Authorities say a 21-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries sustained in a horrific nightclub fire more than four months ago in the Romanian capital, bringing the death toll to 64.

The health ministry told The Associated Press that Radu Sienerth died Monday at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital.

Ioan Lascar, chief plastic surgeon at the hospital, told Agerpres news agency that Sienerth, an economics student, died from lung complications and massive hemorrhaging

The ministry says 12 patients remain hospitalized abroad for injuries caused in the Oct. 30 blaze.

Flames engulfed the Colectiv nightclub in Bucharest, after a spark from fireworks intended for outdoor use ignited foam decor, sending panicked revelers to a single exit door.

The initial death toll of 26 has risen over the subsequent days and weeks.
