Montenegro Priest Says Pokemons Are Demons

Thursday, 25 August 2016 07:18 AM EDT

PODGORICA, Montenegro (AP) — For a priest in Montenegro, Pokemons are no game.

Father Rafailo of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro has denounced the fictional figures in the "Pokemon Go" reality game as demons hailing an upcoming evil.

Rafailo said in a service earlier this month that "Pokemons, or demons, are a quite serious appearance of demonic forces." He adds that the demonic forces always "precede something more serious."

The priest explains that he has seen a man "carrying his hunting gear — a mobile phone — scaring women and others because he is about to catch a Pokemon."

Denouncing the popularity of the game, Rafailo concludes that nowadays "there is room for Pokemons and Supermen, but not for the Lord."
