President Donald Trump has often criticized the mismanagement of resources, and that apparently now extends to the World Series, as he ripped Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts for his "big mistake" in pulling his pitcher too soon with a four-run lead Saturday night.
"Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings," President Trump tweeted. "It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked. 4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!"
The Dodgers went on to lose Game 4 of the World Series 9-6, putting the Boston Red Sox within one game of the championship, just one night after an 18-inning marathon won by the Dodgers taxed both bullpens.
The president's tweet brought criticism from his usual political opponents for coming on the night 11 were murdered in a Pittsburgh Synagogue.
"Is tonight when @realDonaldTrump became our President?" Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., tweeted.
"– Or was it when he said 'there are some very fine people on both sides' at the white nationalist mob event in Charlottesville? – Or when he tweeted CNN getting body slammed? – Or when he sabotaged healthcare?"
President Trump had tweeted six times on the mass shooting earlier in the day.
