A grateful Rob Lowe invited firefighters to a meal after they worked to save his and other multi-million dollar homes in Santa Barbara County, Calif., from a wildfire that has been raging since Dec. 4.
Lowe posted his thank-you on Instagram to those "who stood tall" in the battle.
He added another showing the firefighters enjoying the feast.
Lowe also posted a picture Saturday of himself in fire-retardant gear, manning a fire hose to assist a firefighter. "You do what you can, but when it’s time.. you GO," he wrote.
Others in celebrity-packed Santa Barbara County were not as lucky after a firefight Saturday night, the Los Angeles Times reported. Fueled by stronger-than-expected winds, some up to 65 mph, the re-energized fire had threatened hundreds of homes as it headed toward the ocean.
Billy Baldwin tweeted Sunday the fire was only three blocks from his house, and James Woods posted a friend-of-a-friend account attributing Santa Barbara's survival to the winds calming down Saturday night.
Last week, Ellen DeGeneres posted her gratitude to firefighters, the L.A. Times reported.
"Last night. I am so incredibly grateful to these and all the firefighters,” she wrote Thursday on Instagram, captioning a photo of a crew from the Redlands Fire Department. "Thank you."
Firefighters took advantage of lighter winds Sunday to push back on the western edge of the fire, the L.A. Times reported, adding that as of Monday morning, about 270,500 acres had burned.
