Two additional members of the White House residence staff tested positive for COVID-19 about three weeks ago, bringing the total number from that group up to four, The New York Times reports.
A White House official confirmed to the Times that three members of the housekeeping staff who all work on the residence’s third floor and an assistant to the chief usher have all tested positive within the last few weeks. President Donald Trump returned to the White House earlier this week after spending several days hospitalized due to the coronavirus.
Over a dozen people who have come in contact with Trump recently have tested positive for the coronavirus, including several high-ranking White House staffers such as advisers Hope Hicks and Stephen Miller, and press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Many of those who have tested positive were in attendance at a Sept. 26 ceremony to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
