Testing has started on eight prototypes of President Donald Trump's proposed border wall to see how they will stand up to scaling and breach attempts, ABC News is reporting.

A spokesperson for U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officials began physically testing the prototypes this week. The testing will include attempts to climb the walls.

Jackhammers, saws and hydraulic tools will be used in attempt to breach them, the network news reported.

Six companies were selected to build prototypes. The test walls were required to be 18-30 feet high, according to ABC News.

The prototypes were built side-by-side in San Diego. Four of the test walls are composed of concrete, The Hill noted. The four others consist of various other materials.
