The now-famous "Pussy Hat" — the pink bonnet worn by "Women's March on Washington" protesters last weekend — has scored the cover of Time.
The magazine's Feb. 8th front-page features a photo of the knit hat with pointy cat ears and the headline "The Resistance Rises — How a March Becomes a Movement."
Time calls the hat — worn by tens of thousands of women in the nation's capital and at similar rallies across the country — "the signature attire" for the movement of women protesting the election of Donald Trump as the nation's 45th president.
It's based on the infamous remarks made in 2006 by Trump, who is heard on a video bragging about grabbing women's private parts.
"By the look of the demonstrations, the 'Access Hollywood' tape also became a uniquely unifying factor. What Trump dismissed as 'locker-room banter' … gave Jan. 21 its palette (pink), its signature attire (the pussy hat) and its rules of engagement," Time says.
