A Texas woman says she has been quarantined with coronavirus symptoms for more than 100 days.
Jenny Lorraine, of Austin, told local NBC affiliate KXAN that she tested positive for COVID-19 in March and her symptoms are yet to go away.
“I felt like I was coming down with the flu and two days later I felt like I was run over by a truck,” Lorraine said.
She said after a month, she began to regain strength, but she still experienced virus-related symptoms. At day 90 of isolation, she reported she still had a fever.
“My ears are ringing right now, my back hurts so bad, like a fiery pain,” Lorraine told the station.
She has met with her doctor via tele-medicine calls. She said the doctor told her she is still contagious and needs to remain isolated.
Her two toddlers are also in isolation. They are presumed to be sick with the virus after they visited a doctor, the station reports.
The Centers for Disease Control guidelines state that people with symptoms can come out of isolation once they have gone three days without a fever and their respiratory symptoms improve. Ten days must have passed since a person first began experiencing symptoms.
