A woman angered over GOP Rep. David Kustoff's vote for the Republican healthcare bill, chased down his car as he visited his home state of Tennessee – sparking fears she was trying to run him off the road, police said.
The Washington Post reported Kustoff had visited the University of Tennessee with an aide when the two became worried that car driven by Wendi Wright, 35, wanted to force them off the highway.
The two pulled their car into a driveway and stopped. Authorities said Wright got out of her vehicle and screamed at the congressman, while striking the windows of his car, the Post reported.
She left before authorities arrived, but was tracked down after posting details of the incident with Kustoff on Facebook, the newspaper said.
She has been charged with felony reckless endangerment and released after posting a $1,000 bond, the Post reported.
Kustoff represents Tennessee's 8th District, which included Union City, Tenn., where Wright lives. He was one of 216 House Republicans who voted to pass the American Health Care Act on May 4.
The incident occurred four days after the vote, according to the Weakly County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page.
