Ted Nugent said Friday that President Donald Trump was "so relaxed and cordial and open" during his visit Wednesday with Sarah Palin and Kid Rock and that he would give the new commander-in-chief "an A-plus" for his work so far.
"It was almost like a Nugent family campfire, a family reunion at Thanksgiving," the legendary rocker told Rita Cosby on WABC-AM in New York. "It was so down to earth.
"The president was so relaxed and cordial and open," he added. "It was like I had my brother next to me, like I had my son, or a hunting buddy."
Nugent, Palin and Rock visited Trump in the Oval Office — and pictures posted on Twitter also included wife, Shemane Deziel, and Rock's fiancée, Audrey Berry.
The three also posed in front of a picture of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the White House basement.
Nugent also posted a picture of himself with Trump on his Facebook page.
He told Cosby Friday that he was surprised at President Trump's demeanor during the visit in light of recent global events.
"I was surprised, because I know with North Korea, and Russia, and with the border, and with the draining of the swamp, how overwhelming those demands must be," he said. "But he didn't show any of that.
"I fancy myself quite an energized individual at 68.6 years clean and sober — but I'm afraid I met my match: Donald Trump at 70.
"I'm telling you, he was a ball of fire," Nugent said. "I would give him an A-plus."
