Rupert Murdoch, 84, Takes to Twitter to Air Views

Rupert Murdoch, whose wealth and influence are bolstered by his vast media empire, is using social media to express himself on a variety of topics, including climate change and the recent instability of the financial market here and abroad, CNN reports.

Long criticized by the left for being a climate change denier — last year Bloomberg reported Murdoch saying "climate change has been going on as long as the planet is here" — the mega-billionaire News Corp. chairman took to Twitter on Wednesday to make his position clear:

The 84-year-old Murdoch has been an avid Twitter poster of late, using the social media site to offer his thoughts on financial global matters.

He also used Twitter to opine about what he sees as oppressive regulations stymieing job growth.

Global growth dangerously low. Blame politicians' layers of regulations . Too hard. US federal regs 170,000 pages before states & cities.

"Small business the only hope for growth," according to Murdoch, downplaying this week’s market volatility.

So markets bounce. Too much cash looking for a home. Far too few prepared to invest and employ. Small business the only hope for growth.
