GMA's Robin Roberts Whacks Omarosa Over WH Ouster

GMA's Robin Roberts Whacks Omarosa Over WH Ouster
(ABC's "Good Morning America")

Usually reserved Robin Roberts took a front-and-center jab at Omarosa Manigault on Thursday, saying she hopes Washington has seen the last of the brassy former "Apprentice" contestant who served as an aide to President Donald Trump until this week when she was fired.

And not one to be silent, Omarosa later fired back, calling Roberts "petty."

Omarosa was reportedly physically escorted off White House grounds by Secret Service agents after a profane blowout with Trump's Chief of Staff John Kelly — a scenario she has strenuously denied.

Roberts, the amiable co-host of ABC's "Good Morning America," got her dander up after Michael Strahan aired his exclusive interview with Omarosa, who told of her unhappiness in the job of the director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison for the Trump administration.

"She said she has a story to tell, and I'm sure she'll be selling that story," Roberts said. "She will.

"Bye, Felicia."

"Bye Felicia" is an iconic phrase first uttered in the R-rated 1995 crime comedy "Friday" starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, and essentially means "I'm done with you" or "Get out of my face."

When "Inside Edition" asked Omarosa to respond to Roberts' snub, she replied, "That was petty. It's a black woman civil war."

In her interview with Strahan, Omarosa said, "I have my story to tell as the only African-American woman in this White House, as a senior staff and assistant to the president.

"I have seen things that have made me uncomfortable, that have upset me, that have affected me deeply and emotionally, that has affected my community and my people and when I can tell my story, it is a profound story that I know the world will want to hear."

Omarosa was one of the most talked-about contestants when she appeared on Trump's onetime NBC reality show "The Apprentice" in 2008 and 2013 and whose cutthroat tactics earned her the nickname the "woman America loves to hate."

She also wrote a book called "The Bitch Switch: Knowing How to Turn It on and Off," published by Phoenix.
